Board of Directors Vote to Pay For Youth Membership posted on June 30, 2019
The Region 6 Board of Directors had a discussion and voted to pay for a new membership for any youth wishing to join AIS. It is a one year/first year only membership to encourage more youth membership in AIS and the region. Contact your local club president for additional information.

SWMIS Request For Guest Irises posted on June 24, 2020
The Southwestern Michigan Iris Society will be hosting the Region 6 Spring 2022 meeting, May 27 and 28, 2022. We are seeking guest irises for three guest gardens. At the time of our meeting, median iris, tall bearded and early Siberian and Species iris should be blooming. Hybridizers are welcome to send their guest irises to:

Please mark the packages Region 6 Guest Irises. The name of the variety or seedling number should be clearly marked on each plant. The following information should accompany each variety on a separate list:
Hybridizer’s name and address
Name or seedling number of each variety
Type of iris
Height, color, distinguishing features (photo of possible)
Year of introduction if applicable
The packing list should include the hybridizer’s email address so an electronic receipt can be sent)
Guest irises should be received between July 1 - August 15, 2020 for Bearded irises and May 1 – June 1, 2020 for Beardless irises. SWMIS is also asking for up to 3 divisions of each iris.
(If a guest seedling is named, it is the responsibility of the hybridizer to notify the guest iris chair, Deb Diget [firstname.lastname@example.org] no later than January 2022.)
Spring 2022 a notice of disposition will be sent to each hybridizer. Each hybridizer should then send instructions for disposition of their plants. Named varieties will be disposed of per meeting committee. Seedlings will be destroyed unless requested back by hybridizers. Hybridizers who request return of their plants will be responsible for related expenses.
The meeting committee will strictly adhere to the code of ethics as printed in the AIS Convention handbook. The committee will not be responsible for losses beyond their control. Hybridizers will be given the opportunity to replace lost plants up to one year prior to the meeting.
